This blog will provide a place for discussions on issues related to the accounting profession, accounting pronouncements, business and the policies and politics impacting business.
I graduated Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with a B.S. in Accounging in 1992. I was unsuccessful for years in landing a job in public accounting as I desired. Thus, currently I serve as a Certified Surgical Assistant and an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant-Certified. Recently, I have dedicated myelf to completing what I started years ago in college by attempting to achieve the highest level of professionalism by passing the CPA exam. I have to stay self motivated and self taught at this point. I'm using new tools that weren't available to me in 1992 when I graduated to achieve this goal. Today I have my laptop, interactive self-study CD ROMs for the CPA exam and this blog to serve as my learning coaches and motivators. I hope you will serve as a teacher to me as well. Maybe I will offer something that will help you in return. My posts will have to be academic in nature as I have no real-world experience in the arena of public accounting. Thus, any experienced practitioner from the accounting profession willing to share and teach is always welcome on my blog. Hopefully learning more about the accounting profession will be both fun and exciting for you and me both.
